Rock Solid Warrior: Senior Airman Laurie Chapoy Published Nov. 30, 2011 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Name: Senior Airman Laurie Chapoy Deployed Unit: 386th Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron Intelligence Duty Title: Intelligence Analyst Home unit/station: 19th Operations Group, Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. How do you support the mission here? My primary duties include giving intelligence briefings to aircrew before they depart on their missions and debriefing them when they return. We disseminate relevant information to various intelligence units around the Area of Responsibility and keep commanders up to date on significant events and information. Favorite movie: That Thing You Do and Greece Favorite restaurant: Jimmy Johns all the way! Favorite superhero: The Power Rangers!! (Pink is the best) Place you would most like to vacation to or visit: Italy Favorite actor/actress: I don't really have favorites, but I like a lot of Will Ferrell movies. Favorite food: Peanut Butter Favorite musical group/musician/singer: I like pretty much every genre of music, so it's hard to pick a favorite. It depends on my mood. One of my playlists includes Eli Young Band, Halestorm, Britney and Disturbed...very random. How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique? This is my third deployment. I was deployed to Iraq, and then Afghanistan, so it's a nice change to be here. Being deployed to a place where the base is not constantly getting attacked is nice. This deployment is unique because we are supporting the drawdown from Iraq. Also, the missions we support are for both Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? My job while deployed is more focused on providing for the aircrews, making sure they have the intelligence products needed to fly their mission. At home station, most of what I do is related to training or more strategic level briefings.
