How do you support the mission here? I directly support combat operations by enabling general officers and their civilian equivalents a smooth and coordinated travel between duty locations within the AOR and to/from the Continental United States. In executing the larger protocol mission, I allow distinguished visitors (DVs), whether visiting here or in transiting to their deployed duty stations, to continue to communicate, remain comfortable and secure while traveling. I move easily between the staff environment, the flight line, DV quarters, different bases, and the U.S. Embassy. I enable officers and their Civilian equivalents from every service and theater to coordinate their efforts with minimal difficulty.

How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique? I have deployed five times. This is the first time that I have worked in a two-person shop and supported the workload that we do.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At home station I am the NCOIC of the Fitness Center. While doing protocol the only similarity between the two is that it is still customer service oriented, just a completely different customer.
