Ali Al Salem is my first deployment. It is a very unique experience because there is more cohesion and camaraderie here than I have experienced anywhere else. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? In this deployed environment I see more heat related illness and more widespread contagious diseases. People's time in the AOR is limited, so there is not long-term care. We function more as an ER rather than a family practice clinic.
