Rock Solid Warrior: Tech Sgt. Brett Robinson Published Jan. 6, 2011 SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Rock Solid Warrior comes from the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron. Name: Tech Sgt. Brett Robinson Unit: 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Job: Power Production Craftsman Home Station: 185th Air Refueling Wing, Iowa Air National Guard, Sioux City, Iowa How do you support the mission here? I provide 24-hour response for in-flight emergencies utilizing the mobile aircraft arresting systems. I also provide emergency back-up power for the base and I train Airmen in advanced troubleshooting techniques. How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique? This is my second deployment. This deployed location afforded more opportunities to work with large commercial power-plants. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? I'm a civilian at my home base. At my home unit, I work more to myself, than here, where it is more of a team effort. Working with a team makes work issues less stressful. The dynamic is also very different.
