Rock Solid Warrior Published Sept. 24, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Rock Solid Warrior comes from the 386th Expeditionary Maintenance Group. Name: Tech Sgt. Florida Knowles Unit: 386th Expeditionary Maintenance Group Job: NCO in charge of the 386th EMXG Commander's Support Staff Home station: 81st Training Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. How do you support the mission here? As the Unit Travel Representative, I ensure personnel movement flows smoothly at the group and squadron levels. I also ensure that assigned personnel are provided with the support they need on a daily basis to continue their mission. How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique? This is my first deployment, which makes it unique from the start. I am fascinated with how quickly people are able to come together here as a team to get the job done without a hitch. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? My job here is definitely different than it is at home base. At home, I don't deal with personnel movement, so there was some adapting needed right from the beginning.
