Rock Solid Warrior Published March 12, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Rock Solid Warrior comes from the 387th Air Expeditionary Group. Name: Airman 1st Class Hendrick J. Martinez Unit: 387th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Duty title: Security response team member/Installation entry controller Home unit/base: 10th Security Forces Squadron, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. How do you support the mission here? As an entry controller, I allow authorized base entry to personnel carrying proper identification and documentation. As a security response team member, I provide security for multinational personnel and cargo travelling into and out of the U.S. Air Force Central Command area of responsibility. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? My job at the Air Force Academy focuses on law enforcement, while my job here focuses on protecting personnel and property entering and leaving the AOR. I appreciate the chance to have a more direct role in helping protect my fellow downrange warriors, especially those on their way back home.
