Rock Solid Warrior Published Feb. 12, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Rock Solid Warrior comes from the 586th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron. Name: Senior Airman Kane Ringley Unit: 586th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, 424th Medium Truck Detachment "Centurions" Duty title: Lead vehicle commander Home unit/base: 99th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. How do you support the mission here? I support Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom cargo movements by performing combat logistics patrols throughout Southwest Asia. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my second deployment doing convoys, but it is my first time experiencing a middle-east winter. My previous deployment was in the heat of the summer. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? It couldn't be more different, at home station it's more like a regular job. Here it is totally different from the "Blue" Air Force, it's more like I am in the Army wearing an Air Force uniform.
