Rock Solid Warrior Published Jan. 21, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA -- This week's 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Rock Solid Warrior comes from the 386th Expeditionary Medical Group. Name: Tech. Sgt. Tamara Jubilee-Young Unit: 386th Expeditionary Medical Group Duty title: Information systems technician Home unit/base: 88th Medical Group, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio How do you support the mission here? I provide computer support for the 386th Expeditionary Medical Group and assist as the unit travel representative with getting our deployed members in and out of the area of responsibility. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my third deployment, but this one is unique because the Air Force's new fitness program has become more of a driving force in my day-to-day activities. Taking time out of the busy day to get in shape has proven to be a challenge for me, but with the various programs the 386th EMDG has adopted, it has brought to light the idea that exercise in not only beneficial but it can also be fun. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At my home base I'm the NCO in charge of the admissions and dispositions department. My customers are patients, and my focus is to ensure that their needs are met through an administrative stand point. While deployed, my customers are the staff that I work with each day. They take care of me and I take care of them. Keeping their information systems up and running means that they can take care of the patients, which means that our patients can ultimately keep the mission running.
