ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published Nov. 2, 2009 386th Expeditionary Operations Group SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Tech. Sgt. Amber Harvey Duty Title: Knowledge Operations Manager Home unit: 20th Operations Group, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. How do you support the mission here? As the Knowledge Ops Manager for the 386th Expeditionary Operations Group, I control information flow from the lowest Airman to highest officer. I make sure that the commanders appointed over me get the information and tools they need to support Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa missions. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my third deployment. All of my deployments have been unique, but this one definitely stands out from the crowd. I finally get to support the operations side of the house putting troops and cargo on the ground. It is amazing to see how everything comes in full circle. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? The mission here different, but my job is the same. The operations tempo is higher and there are other stressors, but we all have a mission, whether at home-station or forward deployed location. At the end of my day, my mission is to support our wingmen, so they can fly, fight, and win!
