The Individual Equipment Element (IEE) is responsible for issue of class II items, individual equipment, tools and expendable supplies to satisfy customer requirements. The section operates centralized on-base issue, storage and turn-in points for all items authorized by specialty code or duty. These items include common items, special clothing and field equipment. I contribute to the mission by providing safety equipment and combat attire in support of three air expeditionary groups. Additionally, I ensure the readiness of 2,000 warfighters,v alidate 612 line items worth $193,000 and support 70 combat missions. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. Being here has helped me realize how significant and important each of our jobs is towards winning the Global War On Terrorism. No matter how big or small the job may be, each individual has an impact towards ensuring our freedom. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? Being here gives me a different perspective and a whole new respect for those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. When your freedom and certain luxuries are taken away, you realize just how good you have it. It really makes you appreciate and cherish what you have.
