ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published Aug. 12, 2008 737th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Senior Airman Brianna Wilson C-130 loadmaster Home unit/base: 40th Airlift Squadron, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas How do you support the mission here? I support the mission by participating in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. We carry passengers and supplies throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, whether taking them into the fight or bringing them here. We also perform airdrop missions, dropping thousands of leaflets to help support our troops on the ground. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? I have deployed twice, but this is my first time deploying here. This deployment is unique because the 737th EAS is composed of C-130 crews from three different bases: Ramstein Air Base, Yokota AB and Dyess AFB. Our command section is made up from leaders from all three bases. That's beneficial, because when we have a situation arise, there can be up to three professional perspectives. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At Dyess AFB, our primary mission is to train in preparation for returning to a deployed environment. In the four months we have at home station before we return to the desert, we routinely fly heavy equipment, container delivery system and personnel airdrop missions to keep ourselves knowledgeable while deployed. We also conduct ground training to prime our new loadmasters for their first deployment.
