ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published July 21, 2008 386th Expeditionary Medical Group SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Staff Sgt. Tamara Jubilee-Young Systems administrator Home unit/base: 88th Medical Support Squadron, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio How do you support the mission here? As a Systems administrator, I maintain all the computer systems for the medical group, ensuring that our staff has access to patient tracking data and all required assets to ensure continued success in our mission How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my second deployment. This is my first to Southwest Asia, which in itself makes it very unique. Because of the close quarters, this deployment has given me an opportunity to forge new friendships. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? The major difference would have to be that in my department at home I have numerous counterparts, but here I operate a one-man shop. Although this clinic is smaller, there is plenty to keep me busy. Being the sole system administrator doesn't make it easy, but the days fly by. In addition, I have numerous secondary duties that range from security manager to unit travel representative. Every day offers a new experience for me.
