ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published July 3, 2008 586th Air Expeditionary Group SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Tech. Sgt. Denete Tracy NCO in charge of Information Management Home unit/base: 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi Miss. How do you support the mission here? As the NCOIC, my duties include supporting the in-lieu-of missions from an administrative perspective. I spend the majority of my time processing Army and Air Force decorations, and group staff computer support. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my third deployment. Supporting the ILO mission is great because I get to help support our combat Airmen who perform their missions in the Persian Gulf Region and throughout Iraq. It makes me proud and is rewarding to support the amazing Airmen completing the missions beyond the normal scope of duties. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At my home unit, my primary job is Client Support Administrator. Deployed, my role is more on the paperwork side of the house processing letters of evaluation, Air Force Combat Action Medals, and concurrences with Air Force Central Command headquarters. Basically, being deployed is going back to the roots of a traditional information manager.
