ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published May 19, 2008 387 Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Staff Sgt. Christopher Ricks NCO in charge of supply/vehicle control officer Home unit/base: 316th Security Force Squadron, Andrews Air Force Base, Camp Springs, Md. How do you support the mission here? I order and receive all squadron supplies and manage the vehicle fleet. I also manage the unit phone and computer accounts. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. It is unique in the level of responsibility I have and the scope of my overall duties. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At Andrews I am the physical security NCO in my unit and is a very demanding and high tempo position. The difference is on this deployment you live and work in a closer proximity with other units while simultaneously working to get our respective job done. Each member has a different task, but we're all here to accomplish a mission which makes the camaraderie. Due to the deployed environment, it feels like a lot tighter group here than at home station.
