Test Control Officer and Education Counselor

Home unit/base: 81st Communications Squadron, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.

How do you support the mission here? I am the test control officer for this deployed location, and support two other locations for testing within the AOR. I administer officer and enlisted professional military education, college equivalency exams, and proctor a wide variety of college exams for members. I also am the education counselor for personnel assigned at the rock.

How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my second deployment to the AOR. This deployment is unique because I am allowed to explore the other aspect of my AFSC, the education services side, and help members complete their degree programs.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? In the deployed environment I use the educational training side that is normally conducted by the civilian contractors at my home station. This is a vital component to the professional development of the members of the Air Force.
