ROCK SOLID WARRIOR Published Jan. 25, 2008 586th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Senior Airman Jordan Gaddis Security Forces S2 Intelligence Home unit/base: 6th Security Forces Squadron, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. How do you support the mission here? I support the mission by providing timely, accurate intelligence to U.S. and coalition forces. This intelligence is critical in ensuring all personnel have a clear picture of what is happening inside as well as outside our forward operating base. I dissect each event that occurs in our area of operations and analyze the outcome, which is critical to the success of our mission. Team work between other services is crucial in accomplishing the mission. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my third deployment in four years and my second rotation to Iraq. My FOB is extremely unique since it currently operates the largest detention facility in Iraq. Knowing that the threat on our FOB is just as high as the threat outside the FOB is unique as well. The wingman concept is key to our safety here. How does your job differ in a deployed environment versus home base? My job deployed is completely different than home station because at home station I am a training instructor. I provide monthly, initial and refresher training to all the SF 'defenders'.
