Rock Solid Warrior Published Dec. 18, 2007 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Airman 1st Class Vhal Basilio Individual equipment technician Home unit/base: 509th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. How do you support the mission here? I support our sister services and coalition partners with their individual equipment needs. I process an average of 25 sets of equipment, 15 backorders and help 20 walk-in-customers every day. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. I learned a lot of things on this deployment, one being the true meaning of being an Airman and a "wingman." How does your job differ in a deployed environment versus home base? Here, I get to work upfront and deal with the costumers directly. I'm able to provide my costumers with the equipment necessary to complete the mission. At home station, I work in receiving, where I check in and process property all day.
