The help desk is the first line of support for any communication related need. As a focal point, we receive/translate the request or problem, coordinate and direct the flow of work. We also track other internal processes to meet the customer's needs. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. However it has been a unique experience since I have had to learn many aspects of another career field, it's been pretty eye-opening and challenging. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? Completely different. Back home my job is Air Field Systems, where it is our direct responsibility to maintain the communications, navigational, and weather systems required for airplanes to fly. Here in this position we have a much larger scope of responsibility, and it has allowed me to better understand the "big Picture".
