Rock Solid Warrior Published March 12, 2007 386 AEW SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Airman 1st Class Tava D. Blair Airman 1st Class Tava D. Blair 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineering Squadron 3E931 Readiness Flight/ Logistics Section Monitor Home unit/base: 22 CES, McConnell AFB, Kan. How do you support the mission here? Readiness manages the 386 AEW Emergency Management (EM) Program to include: Providing reconnaissance, response, warning, prediction and reporting of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosives (CBRNE). We are also the lead agency for planning and training to the disaster response force (DRF) for major accidents, natural disasters, attack actions and terrorist use CBRN. How many times have you deployed and what makes this one unique? This is my first deployment. Working with coalition forces, being under a different MAJCOM and my current living conditions (the tents are great) all make this an unique experience. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? At McConnell I work in the Plans and Operations section and assist in running the Emergency Management program for the Wing. Here I am working in the Logistics section where I monitor all of our CBRN equipment.
