This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Tech. Sgt. Ja Keitha Brown. She is the base records and publications manager and SharePoint web administrator with the 386th Expeditionary Communications Squadron. The Shreveport, Louisiana native is deployed from the 28th Operations Group, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota.

Q: What is your family's military heritage?
A: N/A

Q: What is your mission here?
A: My mission here as the BRM is to make sure that all official records are kept in accordance to the law. For publications, I make sure that all wing publications are published with AFCENT and available to all base personnel. I am the web admin for all EMS/SharePoint sites.

Q: What are some of the best parts of your mission?

A: The best part of my mission is working with the entire base. All three duties affect everyone from accessing SharePoint to capturing official records for their respective mission to publishing wing publications or group/squadron OIs.

Q: What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them?
A: The biggest challenge I face with conducting my mission is dealing with the frustrated customer that has been getting the run around. I overcome this by making sure I find out exactly what the customer needs and make sure that we get the proper access or instructions needed for them to complete their mission.

Q: How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base?
A: At home station I provide admin support to all OG personnel which includes processing their decorations, evaluations and memorandums for the OG/CC review/signature.

Q: How many times have you deployed?
A: two

Q: What makes this deployment unique?
A: This deployment is giving me the opportunity to be the BRM unique for me because with the split of my AFSC, it is allowing me to do a job that I will now longer have the opportunity to do in the future.

Q: Why did you join the Air Force?
A: I joined the Air Force to serve my country and travel the world.
