On April 5, 2014 the Helping Agencies Team sponsored the bi-annual Wellness Block Party at the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing. The focus was for Marauders to get, and stay, healthy on The Rock.

The concept for the block party was based on the model of Comprehensive Airmen Fitness (CAF), which is a proactive approach to look at and address all of the areas of our life in order to become healthier, happier, more resilient and better equipped to deal with the rigors of military life. CAF encourages positive behaviors and holistic health including mental fitness, physical fitness, social fitness and spiritual fitness.

Mental Fitness: Approaching life's challenges in a positive way through self-control, stamina and good character with choices and actions; seeking help and offering help.

Physical Fitness:
Performing and excelling in physical activities that require aerobic fitness, endurance, strength and flexibility through exercise, nutrition and training.

Social Fitness: Developing and maintaining trusted, valued friendships that are personally fulfilling and foster good communication, including positive exchange of ideas, views and experiences.

Spiritual Fitness: Strengthening a set of beliefs, principles or values that sustain our sense of well-being and purpose.

Each one of us can improve our personal overall health, whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual or social.

Over 20 vendors and 350 participants made the Wellness Block Party a success. Winners of the various fitness competitions were rewarded with prizes from the USO and AAFES.
