This week's Rock Solid Warrior is Senior Airman Troy Lee. Lee is the linen exchange non-commissioned officer in charge at the 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron. The Avondale, Ariz. native is deployed from the 99th Force Support Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

In his own words:

Q: What is your family's military heritage?
A: Father retired as a Master Sgt. in USAF, step sister is a AF paralegal Staff Sgt., and brother was an Airman 1st Class.

Q: What is your mission here?
A: My mission is to support all personnel stationed here with lodging, furnishing, and supplies.

Q: What are some of the best parts of your mission?
A: To ensure, that all military/civilians alike have rest and relaxation. The best part of my mission is supplying dorm and tent city personnel with a comfortable living. To include but not limited to furnishing the best possible equipment for sleep and comfort.

Q: What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them?
A: One of my many challenges is not having the right tools to complete a work order, improvising is my middle name. I'm also in charge of vehicle concerns for our entire fleet, this includes request, damages, maintenance, and inspection purposes. I also face leading the dorm refresh within the coming weeks. It will be the first test of my abilities as an SSgt.

Q: How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base?
A: At home base I was in charge of Intramural Sports, so running a lodging section is complete out of normal element for me. Being in charge of linen, shows me a more hands on approach with my workload.

Q: How many times have you deployed?
A: This is my first deployment.

Q: What makes this deployment unique?
A: What makes this deployment unique is it's in a completely different place, working a completely different section.

Q: Why did you join the Air Force?
A: I joined the AF mainly for education purposes, but you can't help but feel a sense of accomplishment wearing this uniform.
