Southwest Asia -- Editor’s note: The Rock Solid Warrior program is a way to recognize and spotlight the Airmen of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.
I am Staff Sgt. Zachary Brown, a 386th Expeditionary Communications Squadron Client Systems Technician. I am deployed from the 9th Communications Squadron located at Beale Air Force Base in California.
As a client systems technician I perform hands-on computer technical support for systems throughout the installation.
For me the challenges of working in a deployed environment are not very different from the challenges I face at home station. Working in customer service is always difficult because we cannot please everyone. With that, I try to remember that every problem has a solution. I often reach out to my team for support and guidance.
My professional goals are to lead others by being a good example. I do not like to take the easy way out. I believe everyone should know how to do their job and then some. I chose to put this uniform on and in doing so I accepted the responsibilities that come with it.
My personal goals are to continue to strive to be the best father and husband I can be, and to pursue a civil engineering career in project management.
When I’m not working, I enjoy grilling, fishing, staying physically active, cleaning and working on cars.
I joined the Air Force because I really enjoy helping people and staying busy. I am also proud to be part of an organization that supports and defends our country’s freedom.
