I’m Senior Airman Adam Franklin, a 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron services journeyman. I am deployed from the 633rd Force Support Squadron at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. I joined the Air Force to serve my country, become a leader and to better myself as a whole person.

As a services journeyman, my job is to maintain food service, lodging, and fitness centers base wide. Hospitality and customer service is the key to success in my job.

The main difference being in a deployed environment versus being at home station is keeping morale as high as possible with morale, welfare, and recreation activities. We also maintain home station facilities but in the deployed environment it plays a bigger role. The best part of my mission is getting to work with great Airmen and Soldiers and seeing people happy when we serve their favorite foods or give them new movies at the theater. Doing whatever we can to raise their morale is the best part of my job.

My professional goals right now are to make staff sergeant and to finish my Community College of the Air Force degree. I also want to help other Airmen achieve their goals too. Some of my personal goals were to better myself physically and get into better shape. Since I’ve been out here I have lost over 45 pounds. My new goal is to maintain that when I get back to the states.

Some of my hobbies in my off time are going fishing, hunting, and surfing. I also love pretty much anything that has to do with me being out on my boat.
