SOUTHWEST ASIA -- I’m Senior Airman Zachary Kee, a 386th Air Expeditionary Wing photojournalist. I am deployed from the Air Force Public Affairs Agency at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. I joined the Air Force to serve my country and enjoy the many opportunities the Air Force can provide.
As a photojournalist, my job is to deliver timely information to key audiences to give a better understanding and appreciation for Air Force capabilities. I also provide photo documentation of events around the base to include any ceremonies or events authorized by the wing commander. The best part of my mission is getting to interact and meet people while I am on an assignment or covering a story. I am able to meet people from various career fields, which gives me an oversight on what we do as a whole here in the deployed environment.
The biggest challenge I face in my mission is finding the right answer when speaking to a customer about official photography. I overcome this challenge by referencing our local policy and relying on the great teammates I have been given.
My professional goals are to complete my CCAF and make Staff Sergeant this year. My personal goals are to continue becoming a better photographer and get involved with local media outlets to broaden the potential for higher-profile photo opportunities.
