I’m Senior Airman Shakira Ham, a 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron pedestrian entry control point controller. I am deployed from the 633rd Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. I joined the Air Force to serve my country, travel and for education.

As a pedestrian entry control point controller, my job is to verify the total number of foreign nationals entering and exiting the installation. I also control entry to the flight line ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access. The best part of my mission is being able to serve. Any opportunity that I have to help someone else is truly important to me. The second core value remains with me, service before self.

My professional goal is to commission through the Medical Corps Program within the next year once I complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration. My personal goal is to complete my Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration.

Some of my hobbies are going to church, playing the drums and bass guitar, and most of all spending time with my family and friends.
