"Dirt Boys" level the playing field
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan- Tech. Sgt. Darryl Guppy, 455th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, looks through an automatic level device while Airman 1st Class Sheldon Mellott, 455th ECES, pours dirt for an A-10 aircraft hangar extension project May 27. An auto level helps the technician determine how level the foundation is before concrete is poured. Thirteen civil engineer "Dirt Boys" have worked on the project that costs approximately $156,000. Sergeant Guppy hails from Brooklyn, N.Y., and is deployed from the Community College of the Air Force at Gunter Annex, Ala. Airman Mellott hails from Salt Lake City, Utah and is deployed from the 509th Civil Engineer Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Erik Cardenas)
