Local National killed, U.S. Civilian Burned in Southern Afghanistan Published Nov. 5, 2008 By U.S. Forces Afghanistan KABUL, Afghanistan -- A U.S. civilian shot and killed a local national in an altercation that took place in southern Afghanistan this morning. Reports indicate the local national was shot after pouring and igniting a flammable liquid on another U.S. civilian. The civilian sustained serious burns and was transported to the nearest Coalition forces medical facility for treatment. The incident is under investigation.
