Coalition forces kill 5 Taliban militants in Ghazni Published Oct. 13, 2008 By U.S. Forces Afghanistan Public Affairs Office Headquarters U.S. Forces Afghanistan KABUL, Afghanistan -- Coalition forces Sunday disrupted the foreign fighter network, killing five armed Taliban militants in Ghazni province. The operation in Andar District targeted a known Taliban militant believed to have been in contact with foreign fighter facilitators who coordinate terrorist activities intended to destabilize the region. As Coalition forces approached the armed militants, they failed to follow Coalition forces' commands to cease their hostile actions. Realizing the imminent threat, Coalition forces engaged the militants, killing them. The targeted Taliban militant was among those killed. A search of the area found five AK-47s, multiple hand grenades and military style clothing.
