ANSF, Coalition forces kill more than 30 militants in Kandahar province Published Aug. 17, 2008 By Combined Joint Task Force - 101 Combine Press Information Center BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces killed more than 30 militants during three days of fierce battles in Zamto Valley, Kandahar province August 13-15. Militants engaged an ANSF and Coalition forces reconnaissance patrol numerous times over a three-day period with machine gun and small arms fire as they patrolled the valley, which spans multiple districts in Kandahar province. ANSF and Coalition forces returned fire with a variety small arms and called for close-air support. No ANSF, Coalition forces or civilian casualties were reported.
