Several militants killed in Helmand province Published Aug. 13, 2008 By Combined Joint Task Force - 101 Combined Press Information Center BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces killed several militants in the Nahr Surkh District, Helmand province Tuesday. An ANSF compound was attacked by militants using small-arms, rocket-propelled grenades and indirect fire. A Coalition quick reaction force aided the ANSF by engaging the enemy with small-arms fire and close air support, killing five militants and destroying two enemy fighting positions. No ANSF, Coalition forces or civilian casualties were reported.
