The U.S. Central Command Air Forces commander visited servicemembers of the 451st Air Expeditionary Group here July 7.

Lt. Gen. Gary North observed operations and spoke with deployed Airmen from units around the world. "I would like to thank each and every one of you for the great job that you are doing down here," said Gen. North.

The general ate lunch with 26 Airmen and presented coins to a few stand-out Airmen from the 451st Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, 73rd Expeditionary Air Control Squadron, as well as the command and communications sections.

Airman David Infante, 451st Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, was coined for his outstanding support of the mission and was somewhat surprised to be recognized by the CENTAF commander. "I was really not expecting this," said Infante.

The general stressed the importance of the 'wellness triangle' to the servicemembers he visited. "Spiritual, physical and emotional health are vital," he said.

Gen. North also made a point of visiting with Bulgarian troops at the perimeter guard towers in reciprocation of the visit the Bulgarian Head of State made to CENTAF headquarters recently.
