Bagram team parks 2,000th transient aircraft
Members of the transient alert and air terminal operations center pose underneath a C-17, which was the 2,000th transient aircraft to land at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, for the Air Expeditionary Force one and two rotation, which began May 7. Standing, from left, Tech. Sgt. Michael Leach, 455th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron; Senior Airman Logan B. Deal Figueroa, 455th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron; and Tech. Sgt. Robert Samuels, 455th EMXS. Kneeling, from left, Staff Sgt. Gordon Torrey, 455th EMXS; and Maj. Timothy Coger, 455th EMXS commander. The transient alert and ATOC team at Bagram have averaged almost 17 aircraft per day since May 7. A transient aircraft is one that arrives at Bagram to unload, or load, cargo and passengers to support Operation Enduring Freedom, then takes off again and is not assigned here.
