'Warrior of the Week' Staff Sgt. Michael Rance Published Aug. 14, 2013 455th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan -- Chief Master Sgt. Steve Bohannon, Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, presents the "Warrior of the Week" award to Staff Sgt. Michael Rance, 455 Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron, on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Aug. 14. Rance, who is stationed at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., Performed removal, replacement, rig and operational checks on A-10C aircraft flight control and landing gear and windshield and canopy systems. He also responded to in-flight and ground emergencies in support of BAF assigned and transient aircraft. Rance led crash response to 20 in-flight and ground emergencies and ensured the safety of aircrew and aircraft. In addition, he performed five Phase inspections for July; identified and repaired more than 300 discrepancies and returned 2,500 flight hours for close-air support missions.
