'Warrior of the Week' Senior Airman Niko Valdez

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan --  Chief Master Sgt. Steve Bohannon, Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, presents the "Warrior of the Week" award to Senior Airman Niko Valdez, 455th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, on Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, July 17. Valdez, who is stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, was recognized by the 455th ESFS commander for excellence in performance while posted at the joint operations center processing senior base officials into secure facilities. He processed local national/coalition forces and their vehicles on and off the flight line through four entry control points and verified that individuals had proper credentials to access the area they were requesting. As an internal security response team member, he responded to all alarms in his designated area of responsibility and maintained a highly visible presence to detour any possible threat to his area of responsibility.
