A Day on the Job with: 340th AMU
SOUTHWEST ASIA - From left, Tech. Sgt. Josh Vargo and Airman First Class Jarred Purvis watch an engine run before a KC-135 taxis from the ramp Feb. 13. Vargo is a ground fire safety observer for an engine start during preflight checks. Purvis is providing real time on ground communication with aircrew to verify proper responses to flight control checks and engine start sequence. Vargo and Purvis are both electricians assigned to the 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit. Vargo is deployed from the 171st Air Refueling Wing in Pittsburg, Penn.
