A Day on the Job with: 340th AMU

SOUTHWEST ASIA – From left, Airman First Class Michael Jenkins, 340th Aircraft Maintenance Unit electrician, and Airman First Class Joshua Thomas, 340th AMU electrician troubleshoot a tail cone navigation light malfunction on the tail of a KC-135 here Feb. 13. This position light is necessary to avoid mid-air collision during night time in-flight air refueling operations. Jenkins is deployed from the 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., and Thomas is deployed from the 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan.
