Warrior of the Week: TSgt Neel Rodgers
TSgt. Neel Rodgers, a Battlefield Weather Forecaster with 19th Expeditionary Weather Squadron, checks readings on the Tactical Meteorological Observing System (TMQ-53) June 30 at Bagram Field, Afghanistan. Weather forecasters use the system to get current weather conditions such as winds, temperature, humidity, range of visibility, cloud ceiling, and to detect lightning. Rodgers was recently named 455th Air Expeditionary Wing "Warrior of the Week." According to Rodgers' peers, his knowledge and accurate anticipation of area weather patterns were instrumental in the successful completion of combat missions leading to interventions against 55 insurgents and the destruction of 82 Improvised Explosive Devices.
