Airman 1st Class Brian Lewment supervises the loading of a C-17 aircraft in support of the 1st Infantry Division’s Relief in Place/Transfer of Authority at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, March 20, 2012. Lewment is a loadmaster with the 816th Air Expeditionary Squadron and is deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C. The RIP/TOA relied on communication between Army and Air Force units that helped the 1st Infantry Division to transition smoothly into its new mission.
