SOUTHWEST ASIA – Senior Airmen Blake Trammell and Tyler Blevins, 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron Wheel and Tire Shop technicians, break the “bead” of an aircraft wheel during a routine inspection March 29. The “bead” is the portion of the tire that connects the tire and the rim of the wheel causing an airtight seal. The wheel and tire shop conducts wheel and tire maintenance services and inspections for seven different airframes including the F-16, C-130, KC-135, and B-1.
