Major General Roberson reaches 5000 logged flying hours

Wheel chalks that have been specially decorated mark F-15E Strike Eagle #90-20232 as the F-15E that Maj. Gen. Darryl Roberson flies at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Roberson is the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing commander and has piloted F-4, F-15, F-16, and F-22 air frames as he recently logged 5,000 flying hours over his years of service. After passing the astonishing milestone, he acknowledged that accumulating that kind of flying time was about more than the pilots. “It is about all those who helped make it happen,” Roberson said. “Instructors, flight leads, wingmen, weapons systems officers, maintainers, specialists, flight surgeons and medical staff, admin specialists to track events and flying time, life-support specialists, tower and air traffic controllers, runway maintainers, weathermen, sweepers, security forces protecting assets…I could go on and on. This is a testament to our Air Force and our nation.” (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Ericka Engblom)
