Ten years of Operation Enduring Freedom
A B-1B Lancer flight crew receives a pre-flight briefing, Oct. 7, 2011, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, prior to a mission marking the 10th anniversary since the airframe's first involvement in combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In late September 2001, B-1Bs or "Bones" from the 34th and 37th Bomb Squadrons deployed to Diego Garcia from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. Shortly thereafter, the two squadrons merged to become the 34th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron. The 34th EBS is currently assigned to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing.
