Ruffin' it up with working dogs, handlers
Staff Sgt. James Colip, 379th ESFS dog handler, practices with MWD Cezar during a training session here. The dogs receive 60 to 90 days of initial training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. After their initial training, the dog is sent to a duty location and is partnered with a handler. During normal circumstances, the dogs are allowed the opportunity to bond with their handler, which establishes trust and loyalty to the handler.
