Afghanistan Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation project ribbon cutting
Construction began on a water reservoir as a part of the Afghanistan Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation project in the Anaba District Sept. 30. The SWSS project seeks to increase access to potable water and sanitation services in poor communities, decrease the incidence of water-related diseases through household hygiene interventions, and improve the sustainable management of potable water quality and quantity in project-assisted communities. The project will also help increase water supply, improve water quality, and train project beneficiaries in water system maintenance, hygiene practices and boost water protection and conservation awareness.
