Bagram Airmen fuel mission one gallon at a time
Tech. Sgt. Jeff Mikkelson, the 455th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of the fuels service center, sends a refueling assignment to operators on the flight line at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Oct. 14, 2010. The fuels service center receives more than 300 fuel requests a day and are met in less than 30 minutes on average. The Petroleum Oils and Lubricants flight, ranked fourth in the Air Force for most gallons pumped, pumps 8 to 9 million gallons monthly worth about $16 million.
