Vehicle destruction
Staff Sgt. Charles Smith, 380th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle maintenance technician, uses a blow torch to destroy vehicles Aug. 9 at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Maintenance technicians make vehicles inoperative by cutting a three inch hole in the engine block and transmission and by cutting the frame in half. This is done so that the vehicle can’t be used for its original purpose. The 380th ELRS has saved over $684,000 by destroying the vehicles here rather than sending them to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO). (U.S. Air Force photo/ Tech. Sgt.
