GIs Teach Farming in Afghanistan
U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jeffrey Casada, Kentucky National Guard Agri-Business Development Team leader discusses with Shah Mirza, the Dashtak Demonstration Farm manger, through an interpreter, about what is being done with the produce harvested this season. Along with being stored for the winter the harvest is also being used to feed the workers families and livestock. The farm established in 2008, is a way for the American experts to demonstrate techniques to the locals in order to increase crop yields. (Photo by U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Sean M.
