Team Pittsburgh gives lift aboard Pirate ship
A deployed Air Force Reserve C-130H from the 911th Airlift Wing, Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station, Pa. welcomes combat passengers aboard with colorful Pirate ship displays to include this sign on the flight deck and hand-painted mural displaying the Pittsburgh Pirates' upon its nose. The aircraft displays its Pittsburgh Spirit as it flies combat missions throughout Southwest Asia waving a yellow tail-banner with the words Pittsburgh scrawled in black. It's mission is to perform inter-theater airlift in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Team Pittsburgh consists of multiple aircrew, aircraft, as well as numerous maintenance and support personnel. While their friends and family back home battle record snowfall, the crew attached to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing at undisclosed base in Southwest Asia, supports the ground battle in Marjah, Afghanistan, and elsewhere by delivering vital assets, ground equipment and personnel - anything and everything needed to support the ground war.
