A snapshop from an MQ-1 Predator aircraft system over Afghanistan shows an International Security Assistance Force Ch-47 helicopter picking up stranded and injured Afghanis by the dozens after a series of avalanches in the area of the Salang Tunnel in the Parwarn Provice buried major sections of the road that connects the Kabul area with eastern parts of the country. U.S. Airmen from the 380th Air Expeditionary Squadron from an undisclosed base in Southwest Asia provided support from above using their E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control Systems aircraft. They cleared the sky for the air rescue effort, coordinated air refueling, managed communications and provided overwatch support. (U.S. Air Force Photo)
