Justice 'downrange:' Deployed legal Airmen lead legal effort at Southwest Asia base

Lt. Col. Natalie D. Richardson, staff judge advocate for the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing and Master Sgt. Shawn Brooks, legal office superintendent, hold a planning session in their office at a non-disclosed base in Southwest Asia. Among the many things a deployed legal office staff completes, they include preparing and notarizing powers of attorney, advising clients on personal civil legal matters, advising units about fiscal law and ethics issues, advising investigating officers about giving rights advisements, and advising commanders about action under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Colonel Richardson is deployed from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and her hometown is Orange County, Calif. Sergeant Brooks is deployed from Air Education and Training Command Headquarters at Randolph AFB, Texas, and his hometown is Brooklyn, N.Y. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Tech. Sgt. Scott T. Sturkol)
